The most well-known side dish from the past is called mor milagai. Tamil Nadu natives first used green chilies as seasonings about 2,000 years ago, as opposed to pepper. They discovered a creative way to preserve the green chillies for a longer amount of time, and so the use of Mor Milagai began.
